2024-2025 AP Exam Information

We are excited that your student has elected to enroll in an Advanced Placement (AP) course in an effort to challenge themselves and take advantage of the great opportunity to earn possible college credit while in high school. AP courses are designed to provide our students with college-level rigor while still in the high school setting and prepare them for what will be expected in their post-secondary education. In order to receive college credit, students must take and pass the AP exam with a minimum score of 3 or higher, dependent upon the exam and institution they plan to attend. All students enrolled in an AP course are highly encouraged to take the AP exams for which courses they are enrolled. For specific information on earning college credit by using the AP Credit Policy Info search at www.collegeboard.com/ap/creditpolicy.
In exciting news for the 2025 AP exams this school year, the Turlock Unified School District has budgeted for all students who want to take the AP exam to have the fees paid for the exam(s) this school year. TUSD will be covering the cost, but students must sign up and register on time through CollegeBoard and AP Classroom. The deadline for yearlong course registration to elect to take the exam is November 1, 2024. For Spring semester ONLY courses, the deadline to register for an exam will be February 28, 2025. Students must register by the deadline in CollegeBoard. Students taking AP courses should already be enrolled in the appropriate CollegeBoard AP Classroom, per their instructor’s directions. Codes to join were provided at the start of school year. Students can register on the College Board link if they have not already done so.
Please pay close attention to the dates. Students who miss the deadline dates will be assessed the $40.00 late fee per exam for late registration. If a student signs up for an exam and chooses to not take the exam they will be responsible for paying the $40.00 cancellation/unused fee per exam.
